the final push.

Ahhhh, the end of the semester. Every semester, for the last two weeks, I am in hell. This one will be no different - but hey, at least I will be DONE, DONE, DONE when I get through it!!!

This is the time for huge "semester-long" (haha) final projects, presentations up the wazoo, tests, and other general craziness. Just thinking about all of the things I have to do is starting to give me an ulcer.

Somehow, every semester, it all gets done. It honestly amazes me every time. I'm hoping and praying it will be the same this time! ;-) I am PRETTY sure that no matter what I do, I'll pass. Except for pilates, I still have to go to pilates to graduate! But the idea that this is so close and the possibility that something terrible could happen scares the hoo-ha out of me.

Of course, it didn't scare me enough to actually get a head start on all of my homework over Thanksgiving break, but ya know - freaky to think about. :-)

THE LIST:
8-10 page paper. DONE. 15 minute presentation.
7 page paper. Another 15 minute presentation.
Oral test (to test to see if I can talk without a Yooper dialect, haha) DONE.
Another oral test. (on expressiveness; being a Finn in this class is NOT easy!)
Written test on the international phonetic alphabet. DONE.
Test on cognitive psychology.
Commemorative speech. I think I'm going to talk about Caroline. :-)
Drawing of something from my imagination ?!
Make a collage and then draw it.

My head is spinning. I suppose I should actually go DO something, instead of posting in my blog!

If I disappear for 2 weeks, you know why!

Woot!

So pretty much everyone who reads this knows already, but to cover all of the bases,

I GOT THE JOB!!!

I didn't jinx myself yesterday after all! I am ecstatic. And anxious to get down there and start. YAY.

For anyone that is coming in late, the job is with JPMorgan Chase. The position is an "in store personal banker" which means that I'll be working at a Chase branch inside of a Meijer or Kroger. I'll probably be working the Howell branch, and living in Brighton. I start Jan 5th, so I'll be downstate end of Dec/very beginning of Jan.

Woot!

anticipation.

Got home from Detroit safe today. :) Winter is definitely here... driving was not much fun. Lots of slush and snow!

I had a great weekend! Friday was my interview with Chase, and (trying not to jinx myself) I think it went really, really well. I will be returning a call to the HR recruiter tomorrow, so I will keep everyone posted! The interview was a group event... and I was the most talkative one out of the group! I was surprised, I'm not always the person that initiates most of the conversation. I am very anxious to hear from them. YAY.

It feels like everything is falling into place (again, really trying not to jinx myself). I am very, very ready to move and start this new part of my life. Its all very exciting.

I feel like a lot of things are changing, moving, shifting... For one, for the first time in my life I won't be a student anymore! Also: new surroundings, new people, job... Again, YAY.

Everyone cross your fingers for me!

winter wonderland!

I had the pleasure of photographing Ross, Shannon, & H (again!) this past weekend... it was the first big snow of the year, and it was GORGEOUS.

A few of my favorites:

my first and only political vent

I am so disappointed with some people.

Obama is our next president. We live in a democracy, the same democracy that gives us the free and wonderful lives that we have, that voted and elected our next president last night.

It is a natural reaction to be disappointed and emotional over not getting the candidate that you wanted elected.

But I have seen and heard SO many disrespectful and ignorant things last night and today...

"I'm moving out of the country!!"
"Get ready for white slavery..." ?!?!?!?
"Welcome to socialism"
"We've elected a terrorist"
etc., etc., etc, ...

I really wish people who threaten to move out of the country were actually forced to. Where are they going to go? Canada? Australia? Both of which who have national health care. Isn't that the same socialism people have a problem with Obama?

I really hope that Obama can produce some of the change that he has been talking about. Our country is and has been in a lot of turmoil lately...

The election was decided. We are AMERICANS. Lets RESPECT our new president. If not, don't let the door hit you on the way out...

content.

ahhh, the life. I've been lounging on the couch, computer in lap pretty much all morning. It's been glorious. If I were brave I'd take a picture, but I won't subject myself to that kind of embarrassment... B's HUGE sweatpants and a FLANNEL shirt. Classy.

Too bad I actually have to get up and go to work in a few.

Anyway, the big news of the weekend: I got to talk to B!!!!!! for a solid 30 minutes + 10 min + another 5 min. It felt soo good. I didn't even recognize his voice at first, he has a respiratory infection... which can't be good for the cold mountain phase he is starting today. Hopefully he does alright. He is doing okay, mostly just exhausted. He actually fell asleep on the phone talking to me the second time. :-) hehehe..

I tried to reorganize my life today... I have every day planned until I graduate. 1 month, 11 days! Woot woot!

I've been feeling content lately. Not overly excited or happy - but not sad or even blah either. Just content.

Anyway, this was a rather boring post. I apologize :-) But the dog just farted, and I need to go "bring home the bacon" as B would say...
